What the Tool Found on a Mature Brand
A deep look at Michael Kloth Photography's AEO presence
If you wanted a brand to use as a baseline, a control, Michael Kloth Photography is a good candidate. Twenty years in business, two books with a real publisher, a Wikidata entity, PPA and ASMP behind it, work in the TMC Foundation’s Healing Arts collection and a presence in Getty’s library. By any honest reading, the signal is there. So when I ran seven subspecialty queries through my AEO Grader, I expected boring, uniformly high numbers.
I got a spread from 28 to 78.
A control isn’t supposed to do that. And the reason it does is the whole point of this issue, because once you understand why a brand with this much real signal scatters across fifty points, you stop reading the headline number as “your AI visibility” and start reading the thing underneath it, which is where the actual information lives.
One note before the numbers. These runs come from a version of the grader I’d already adjusted since last week’s issue. I was in its guts before I’d decided to write about what’s in there. More on why next week.
